Introduction

This process is all about converting the E-pub file to an XML file. The PDF and the respective converted E-pub file are provided. The E-pub file consists of E-pub tags and it should be converted to XML tags. E-pub file tags would be converted to XML tags widely by replacements. We have to deliver the output as an XML file.

Challenges

As we look at the complexity of books, there are simple and complex books. Complex books contain tables, figures, and math equations. The math equations are taken as an image in an E-pub file. Those images are saved in another format and image names are saved as the page number and the occurrence of the image in that particular page.

We need to replace the image name and format as per the specified instruction which is quite difficult and the number of images in the provided book was high. The given time period for this book is the same as the simple book.

Solutions

As we manually go for the image name rename or replacement, it would take a large amount of time. Since we need to complete the task within the turnaround time, we can’t go with manually for image name renaming. So, our team members had a discussion on how to overcome the difficulties and get the job done.

Then we came up with some good ideas to solve this situation. For image renaming, we followed a set of instructions in the most recommended tool for image processing. By ensuring such steps, it was easy to rename them. In replacements, the image name should be replaced by the name specified in the guidelines.

For those replacements too, our team used a new set of instructions to replace the image names in the final XML output file. By following these, we were able to finish the book with ease and get our job done on time with accuracy.

Results

Once finished, the client was happy with our team’s efforts in completing and delivering the book on time. After this incident, the client gave us more business and was happier to maintain the long-relationship with us.
